SOIL - A farmyard garden uses organic growing practices starting with the soil. Our custom blend of locally made compost and organic soil gives your crops the nutritional balance they need for ultimate success. This practice eliminates the worry of having to improve the soil structure and existing contaminants.

WATER - farmyard prefers using drip irrigation on automatic timers. This has a number of benefits for a food garden environment. Since the drip system delivers a small amount of water directly to the plant’s root system, there is no wasted water flowing between the crops helping to conserve natural resources.

SEEDS - Consistent with growing locally, we purchase our seeds from an Arizona organic seed producer who provides top quality organic heirloom vegetable, fruit, and herb seeds. We offer a comprehensive collection of heirloom seed varietals from which you can personalize your garden edibles. Some items such as carrots for example, will be directly sown into your soil and are not available as seedlings. When planning ahead, we can custom grow these seedlings for your next season. They can be ready for your farmyard installation, please see our products page for more information.

FERTILIZER - Our farmers will add only natural fertilizers to your garden. This gives your crops the nutrients they need for optimum growth. Whether we add fish emulsion, seaweed extract, or our homemade worm casting tea, these organic soil amendments benefit the soil and plants.

PESTICIDES - At farmyard, we understand what bugs you! Believe it or not, there are many beneficial insects visiting your garden. When needed, we only use organic forms of pest control to protect you from ingesting harsh chemical pesticides. If your garden has a pest problem, we can determine the most effective organic method, such as insecticidal soap, Neem oil, and pest deterring plants, to keep your garden healthy.
